How much to take?

Not sure how much spirulina you should add to your diet? You can check how much you might take take here.

Add it to, Gravies and Sauces

Another way you can add spirulina powder to your diet, is to add spirulina powder to spirulina sauces and gravies. Typically, thanks to the spices, herbs and other strong-flavoured ingredients that are normally used in sauces and gravies, adding a small spoon of spirulina will only have a minimal impact on the flavour of the gravy or sauce.

Important: It is really important however to protect spirulina’s vitamins and other nutrients, that you only mix in the spirulina powder at the end of the cooking process. Don`t forget, that a hot kitchen, is not the place to store spirulina powder.  A fridge in a sealed container to keep it dry, is an option, but a dry and cool store room is better, if you have one.

  1. Hi Trevor,
What a delightful article on Spirulina. I believe it is a really effective remedy for some conditions including high cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, depression, viral hepatitis, and malnutrition. Moreover, it’s said to boost the immune system and improve kidney and liver function.

I loved the recipes and I may also try the supplements for myself. After all, in times like these, it can’t hurt to get a few happiness meds. 🙂 Thanks for the nice article. Aparna
